At just 70km from Sofia International Airport (50 min. by car) the Rila Hotel is situated on the highest mountain in Bulgaria - Rila (2925m), among the stunning century old pine tree forest of Borovets Resort.

The shortest route from Sofia airport to the Rila Hotel, after leaving the airport is to take Brussels (Bruxel local spelling) Boulevard. After 3.6km exit Brussels Boulevard and take the right towards Tzarigradsko shosse Boulevard. After 1.3km on Tzarigradsko shosse Boulevard, turn right to Samokovsko shosse Boulevard and follow this road right through to Samokov town. Some two kilometers after the last turn, Samokovsko shosse becomes route 82 and leads you out of the town. You will see then Pancharevo lake. Keep straight on this road for another 46km and you will arrive in Samokov. At the first traffic light in the town, turn to the left towards Borovets and after 50m at the next traffic light on the bridge, turn right. Stay on this road for another 10km. After you have entered Borovets Resort, take a right towards the center of the Resort and at the first crossroad across the gondola lift station, turn left. The parking of the Rila Hotel is right behind the building.

Weather

The Borovets weather in July makes it a great summer hotspot for visitors wanting to cycle, hike or simply relax around the mountains. The temperatures of around 18°C (64°F) make this Bulgarian hillside town perfect for a quiet holiday away from busy summer crowds.
